Once a quiet fishing village and now a thriving upmarket resort, Playa Blanca is smaller than its cousin Puerto del Carmen, but perfectly formed.

The most southerly and sunniest resort in Lanzarote, Playa Blanca is the place to be for beach-lovers, with two of the 3 resort beaches boasting Blue Flag status, and Playa Dorada offering a wealth of water sports activities for adrenaline seekers.

Marina Rubicón lies to the eastern edge of this resort and is lined with smart seafood restaurants and cocktail bars as well as exclusive boutiques and artisan markets, while elsewhere in resort there are plenty of souvenir shops by day, along with lively karaoke bars and discos offering options for night owls.

On the doorstep of Timanfaya National Park, the obvious excursion from Playa Blanca is a day exploring the geological wonders of this unique and eerie landscape, with hiking, cycling, driving and even camel trek options available depending on the required level of adventure!
