Ibiza Town, the island’s bustling capital, is packed with the best attributes of island life. There's excellent shopping, world-class restaurants, a vast array of hip bars and cafés, vibrant night life, and beautiful historic landmarks. This stylish city also hosts cultural events throughout the year and is home to several museums and art galleries.
The city consists of three different sections: the Old Town, the New Town and The Marina.
The UNESCO-protected old town, Dalt Vila, with its Renaissance fortification, is perched above the harbour gazing out on the Mediterranean turquoise waters. Just outside the walls lies the old fishing town. You can spend the day wandering through its cobblestone streets and pretty whitewashed houses, then come back in the evening to experience the buzzing hippy market.
The New Town boasts the sophisticated boulevard of Vara de Rey lined with charming townhouses and fashion retails, and the nearby Plaza del Parque with a quality selection of coffee shops, tapas bars and restaurants.
On the opposite side of the harbour from the historic quartier can be found the chic Marina Botafoch. Along the prom you’ll quickly realize that area has a unique vibe due to mega yachts docked here and the posh fashion boutiques. This makes it a prime location for star-spotting, so don't be shocked if you bump into George Clooney or Leonardo DiCaprio while holidaying in Ibiza.
Figueretas beach is located 15-min walk away, while Talamanca is a short boat ride away. Playa d'en Bossa, with Ushuaia clubs like and many other beach clubs, is a short taxi or bus ride away.
